Ashford in the Water is just off the main A6 from Bakewell to Buxton. It can also be reached from Chesterfield via A619 to Baslow and A6020 to Ashford. There is plenty of parking on the roads near the Bulls Head and the Church. This parking is better than the small pub car park which is rather tight for turning round.
WALK:
Approximately 6 miles from Ashford across the fields to Little Longstone and Monsal Head (view point and breather stop!!). Then follow River Wye via footpaths down Monsal Dale to A6 at White Lodge car park and picnic site. Then a short bottom gear climb up Demon's Dell!! and return by footpaths through Great Shacklow Wood and the side of the Wye crossing the river via the Sheepwash Bridge into Ashford village. Maps will be provided on the day.
PS: There are currently a couple of muddy sections so be prepared!!

The Bulls Head serve an excellent selection of bar meals and ales. We anticipate arriving back at approximately 12.45pm for lunch at 1.00pm.
