A web site for friends from the former East Midlands Region of British Gas who meet regularly to walk in various parts of the east midlands.
Bassingham, Lincolnshire, Thursday 27 March 2003

We will follow the usual format. Coffee is at 10am for a 10.30am start and we will return to the pub for lunch. Walking will be on road and through fields.

The main challenge will be to find the pub. Bassingham is 3 miles off the A46 half way between Newark and Lincoln. There are currently major roadworks on this part of the A46, but you will know where the turn is when you reach an island indicating Thurlby off to the right (coming from Newark).

Take this road past the old RAF Swinderby camp (not Swinderby village) picking up the signs to Thurlby and then Bassingham. Once in the village the Bugle Horn (tel. 01522 788333) is opposite the school. There is parking in the pub yard or on the public car park opposite.
