Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire - Thursday 30 March 2006
Talbot and Peter organised this walk in the gently rolling countryside and stile capital of Leicestershire. It was easy walking without any large hills but it was a bit muddy in places.
The walk is about 6.5 miles long but the food at the end of it was worth waiting for.

DIRECTIONS
Travelling south on the Ml leave at junction 21 onto the B4114 towards Narborough. After less than a mile you come to the Foxhunter roundabout, with the pub on the opposite corner and turn left towards Whetstone. It is less than a mile to the next roundabout where you turn right towards Lutterworth on the A426. About 5 miles further on you come to the B581 to Dunton Bassett and Broughton Astley on your right but you turn left towards Ashby Magna and Peatling Parva and Bruntingthorpe is the next village. The main road bears to the right but you go straight on into a cul de sac and the pub is on your right, the car park is just after the pub. If you happen to enter the village from the other end, follow the main road past the plough pub, it bends left and then right where you then turn left into Church Walk.

(Alternatively, From Junction 21 take the outer ring road towards Oadby and the Racecourse. After 3 miles turn right at the junction with the A5199 towards Wigston. Keep to the A5199 through Wigston. After 4 miles turn right at Arnesby (pass the award winning Indian restaurant "Little India" on your left) and follow the road to Bruntingthorpe (about 2½ miles) At a sharp left hand bend within the village go straight ahead to Church Walk (a Garage is on the left). The Joiners is 50 yards further on.)
