Farnah Green, near Belper, Derbyshire - 26 January 2006

Too much Xmas pudding and too many lazy days around the fire ... well it's time once again to put on those old faithful boots for a real gem of a walk in mid Derbyshire based around the village of Farnah Green near Belper.

Details of the walk are as follows:

START POINT: The Bluebell Inn, Farnah Green, Nr Belper, Derbyshire Tel: 01773 826495

TIME: 10:00 am assemble for tea/coffee at the Bluebell with walk to start at 10.30 am
prompt. Lunch at approx. 1.00 pm - a varied menu of excellent quality food already road-tested by Keith, Trevor and myself.

DIRECTIONS: Take the A6 to Belper. At the traffic lights at Belper Bridge take the A517 signed to Ashbourne. After approx. 1 mile turn left off the A517 at road signed for Farnah Green / Hazelwood. The Bluebell Inn is then approx. ¾ mile on your right in Farnah Green.

WALK: This is a smashing walk - at just over 5 miles a bit shorter than normal. It's through unspoilt rolling hill country with some really great views. There are a couple of climbs (nothing like Curbar!!) and it will be muddy in parts so please take note. A map of the walk will be provided.
