Directions: Hallaton is on the Leicestershire/Rutland Border. For those from the north of Leicester the village can be best approached from the Leicester Ring Road and following the A47 (Peterborough). Hallaton is a right turn from East Norton village on the A47 and is clearly signposted. The Bewicke Arms is in the centre of the village and has a large car park.The village is the scene of the Easter Bottle Kicking ceremony, and our walk passes the site of the 11th century Motte and Bailey Castle.

Walk: The walk is 5 miles long and should take about 2½ hours. In places the walk has nettles and thistles, and there are has approximately half a dozen stiles.
