This walk will take a circular route round the West Leake Hills, part of the South Notts. Wolds. 

For the information of the dedicated walkers, part of the route is on the Midshires Way.  The distance is about 5 ½ miles: easy going with a few moderate slopes.  On the way we shall pass Cuckoo Bush Farm at Gotham (a reminder of the tales of the Wise Men of Gotham), skirt Rushcliffe Golf course, admire the view of Radcliffe on Soar power station and marvel at the British Gypsum mine and plasterboard factory at East Leake.

The usual start of 10.00am with coffee is arranged at the Rose and Crown, Zouch (pronounced ‘Zotch’ in these parts), on the A6006, not far from its junction with the A6 at Hathern.  More details about directions, parking at West Leake and lunch at the Rose and Crown to follow.
