East Langton, Leicestershire - Thursday 14 August 2008

bell inn East LangtonTalbert and Peter organised this walk in a very picturesque part of Leicestershire. The walk is just over 5 miles. The wearing of shorts is a bit risky as there are a few nettles along the way.

Twelve members attended and the walk was in the usual brilliant weather. Apart from a diversion right at the end when Talbert took us to see a herd of nice brown cows (& a bull) everything went to plan.

Lunch was excellent and was notable also because for only the second time in ten years Talbert's plea for more custard was granted and even produced more treacle!

START POINT:
The Bell Inn, Main Street, East Langton Nr Market Harborough, LE16 7TW Tel: 01858 545278

DIRECTIONS:
The easiest option for those of you in the north is to come down the M1 and join the A6 either at J24 which by passes Leicester and carry on through to Kibworth Harcourt, or come down the M1 to J21 and follow the Oadby signs up The Soar Valley Way until you reach the A6 and continue to Kibworth.
Do not take the turn to the Langtons in Kibworth village, continue south through the village and there is another left turn just before a railway bridge over the road. Turn right at the crossroads to East Langton and then right into the village. There is a good sized car park behind the pub.
