who meet regularly to walk in various parts of the
east midlands.
 This
walk was in the lovely rolling countryside a few miles north east
of Derby, taking in two golf courses.  The
venue was the Three Horseshoes, Main Road in Morley, (Derbyshire DE7
6DF - 01332 834395). 18 members attended on a blustery but dry day,
some with sensible headgear.....Photos» 
DIRECTIONS to the Three Horseshoes. The pub is on
the A608 Derby to Heanor Road. From Derby take the A61 North. At the
roundabout by the Honda Garage turn left on to the A608, follow this
road for approx. 3½ miles. The pub is on your left after Broomfield
College there is plenty of parking. 
The walk consisted of 5½ miles of easy walking largely across open fields, woodland tracks and two golf courses. There are a couple of muddy sections and one gentle climb with good views. Download the route description & map (pdf)  |
