Directions
Foxton is to the east of Leicester off the A6 near Market Harborough.

For those from the north of Leicester the village can be best approached by coming off the M1 at junction 21, use the ring road to follow the signs to Oadby. When you reach Leicester Racecourse turn right to the A6 and follow the signs for Market Harborough. Turn right off the A6 into the Foxton village. Note follow the village sign not the sign for Foxton Locks.

The Black Horse is on the right on Main Street nearly opposite the church.

The walk is 5 miles long with a maximum incline of 65 metres, it will be split half along the canal tow path, taking in the rise of 10 Locks at Foxton, and half through the rolling (currently muddy) fields of Leicestershire. Click on the image, left, for the map of the route and instructions.
