Gentlemen, it’s time once again for us to put on those walking boots and head off on a r…amble around in Derbyshire.  This is one of our favourite walks which is suitable for the wet weather conditions under foot – can’t guarantee the herd of leaping deer we had last time!!

Details of the walk are as follows:

START POINT: The Wheatsheaf Hotel, Nether End, Baslow, Derbyshire DE45 1SR
                           Tel: 01246 582240

DIRECTIONS TO THE WHEATSHEAF HOTEL, BASLOW:  The Wheatsheaf Hotel is on the right hand side of the A619 from Chesterfield just as you enter Baslow.  There is plenty of parking at the hotel (we’ve been asked to use the top car park).

WALK:  The walk is just over 4 miles. Starting from the Wheatsheaf we will follow the River Derwent to Chatsworth House (Loo stop at the House!!)  We will then make a steady climb through woodland to the Hunting Tower and then wend our way back for lunch at approx. 1.00pm.
