Ratby Leicestershire , Wednesday 6th July 2016

Venue: The Plough Inn
Burroughs Road
Ratby LE6 0XZ
0116 2392630

Directions: This is easy to get too, after you leave the M1 at junction 22 you drive into Ratby along Main Street. On one corner is the War Memorial and opposite is the Bulls Head Pub, you turn between these two into Burroughs Road and the Plough is on your right. There is plenty of parking and seating to enable you to get your boots on.

The Walk: The walk is very easy at just under 5 miles and is through very scenic countryside, with woods and fields, although there is crops in the latter and if we have a wet day you may need water proof trousers. The first time I did the walk it was a lovely sunny day and dry underfoot but when I rechecked it after the rain it was a bit muddy in places. There are also a few nettles so I do not advise shorts, but a very pleasant walk. the pub is a bit basic but wholesome food and very pleasant staff.
