THULSTON AND ELVASTON CASTLE COUNTRY PARK, Thursday 27th April 2017

This walk is a completely new walk. It is just south of Derby, mainly around Elvaston Castle Country Park and the surrounding countryside. It was.organised by Peter Garlick and Ian Priestley.

Details of the walk are as follows:

START AND FINISHING POINT:
The Harrington Arms, 4 Grove Road, Thulston, Derby DE72 3EY
Phone: 01332 571798

DIRECTIONS:
For those of you who don’t have SAT NAV! The Harrington Arms is located in Thulston village on the B5010 just off the A6, south of Derby.  Best access from Leicester and the South will be M1 to Junction 24 taking the A50 to Junction 2 then the A6 and at the next roundabout taking the B5010 into Thulston village. From Nottingham and the North I suggest taking the M1 to Junction 25 then the A52 to Derby then taking the B5010 through Borrowash to Thulston village.

WALK:
Peter and Ian describe the walk as a flat, easy going 5 mile ramble through our green and pleasant land via 6 stiles to the pub at the end – just about right for us Emgaspers!

Cheers - Martin
