Osmaston near Ashbourne Derbyshire, Wednesday 14th October 2015

Returning by popular demand to South Derbyshire for our next walk, around the picturesque villages of Osmaston, Shirley and the park land of Osmaston Hall Estate – a walk we last did on 4 March 2010.

Details of the walk are as follows:
START POINT: The Shoulder of Mutton, Osmaston nr. Ashbourne DE6 1LW
Tel: 01335 342371
TIME: 10.00am assemble for tea/coffee at The Shoulder of Mutton with the walk attempting to start at 10.30am.

DIRECTIONS:
Osmaston village is off the main A52 Derby to Ashbourne road. When approaching on the A52 from Derby take the left turn signed Osmaston and Wyaston, some ½ mile from the outskirts of Ashbourne. The Shoulder of Mutton is about ½ mile from the A52 turning on the left hand side of the village street just past the church. There is plenty of parking to the rear of the pub.

WALK:
The walk is 4½ miles starting at Osmaston, going to the village of Shirley and returning via Osmaston Park. It consists mostly of paths and bridleways with one short but steepish climb and one potential muddy section. There is a good variety of lovely scenery with parkland, woodland, lakes and wild life.
