Baslow  and Chatsworth South Derbyshire Thursday 11 October 2023

Gentlemen, 

Back by popular demand - a ramble around one of our favourite locations to appreciate the Autumn colours amid the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, hopefully not pouring with rain like it is today. 

 Details of the walk are as follows:

START POINT: The Wheatsheaf Hotel, Nether End, Baslow, Derbyshire DE45 1SR Tel: 01246 582240
TIME: 10.00am assemble for tea/coffee at The Wheatsheaf Hotel, Baslow

DIRECTIONS The Wheatsheaf Hotel is on the right hand side of the A619 from Chesterfield just as you enter Baslow. There is plenty of parking at the hotel (we’ve been asked to use the top car park). 

 WALK: The walk is just under 4 miles. Starting from the Wheatsheaf we will follow the River Derwent to Chatsworth House (Loo stop at the House!!) We will return via the top paths near the woodland in the park. We won’t now go up to the Hunting Tower as it is steep and some of us are probably not as able as four years ago when we last visited Chatsworth.
